What are the laws regarding the carrying of a pocket knife when not committing any other crime?
I’d like to know about blade length, concealment, and age requirements.
I think i found the ‘official law’ online here:
http://pweb.netcom.com/~brlevine/ma.txt
From the long paragraph i thought it said a normal folding locking pocket knife (no assisted opening) could not have a blade longer than 1.5 inches. Did i understand this correctly, and if so do police enforce this, because i don’t know many knives that short.

January 24th, 2010Legal Issue of Knife Care?
January 21st, 2010If a minor in California takes a assisted-opening pocket knife, with a blade length over two inches, to a blade smith/blacksmith and asks him/her to sharpen the knife, is it illegal? The law says that it is illegal to carry a pocket knife over two inches if it is open or in any way that makes it easier to take out and attack. BUT, if it was closed, then it’s legal. So, could a minor take the pocket knife and get it sharpened by a professional?

Does anyone know the best way to go about oiling this knife?
January 19th, 2010I have a Buck Rush 290 and I’ve had it for about 3 years now. I keep it in my pocket so it potentially has a bit of lint in the mechanism. The assisted opening has been slowing down significantly and most times won’t open all the way until it locks unless I push it the extra distance manually. What’s the best way to go about oiling this knife so it will perform the way it originally did? I didn’t want to disassemble it without proper instructions for fear of not being able to put it back together correctly.
